Koh Tao Massage Association is created to help and support massage salons and therapists in Koh Tao.
Our vision is to make massage as attractive a business as diving, and to make Koh Tao one of the top go-to places for massage in Thailand (besides Bangkok and Chiang Mai).
Our main goals
- To assure that the quality and standards of the massage practice in Koh Tao is in accordance with the rules and guidelines provided by the Department of Health Service Support and the Ministry of Public Health. (this news article in Bangkok Post shows why)
- To secure a financially sound industry in Koh Tao, with prices and salaries at a sustainable level. By cooperating (like the diving industry does) we can avoid exploitation and secure a solid income for both workers and owners.
- To market the massage industry as one of the main attractions of Koh Tao and give the tourist business one extra leg to stand on. This will strengthen all the other businesses on the island.
Koh Tao Massage is managed by Kjetil (เจ่ทิฬ).
I have a university degree in system development and programming, and 25 years of experience from web development.
I also have 20 years of experience as a massage clinic owner and manager in Norway, and I’m the founder and CEO of the Norwegian Massage Association with more than 750 professional massage therapists as members.
I’m happy to talk with any massage therapist, business owner, manager or ambitious entrepeneur within this field. Please contact me on Facebook or at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have ideas, questions or comments.
You may also find me at Rak You Thai Restaurant in Mae Haad. Rak makes the best Thai and Isaan food in Koh Tao, so don’t miss out! 🙂
